STREGA LoRa wireless smart valve is an all-in-one battery operated valve of superior quality and of exclusive design with embedded LoRa LPWAN wireless technology. With its ultra-low-power consumption, the valve can operate on batteries during 10+ years and through extreme long distances from the gateway/concentrator with an exceptional obstacles penetration.

With its additional Digital Input connected to a water moisture sensor, for instance, the valve can be turned off at the main line stopping the leak before major damage is done and at the same time send an alarm to your smartphone through the gateway.

STREGA is partnering with one of the leading valve manufacturer to provide an exclusive long lasting smart-valve solution. While most other valve designs may corrode after time (especially when maintained months in a specific opened or closed condition), the STREGA smart-valve has a unique mechanism where fluid is never in contact with the diaphragm mechanical parts. The STREGA smart-valve combines long range LoRa LPWAN communication with an ultra-low power design. This wireless valve runs Lithium batteries for 10+ years while transmitting several parameters like valve status (Open/Close), device ID (unique AES128 encryption key), battery level, signal strength, enclosure tampering (is the box tentatively open for fraud ?), alarm, flow, etc… A leak detection, for instance, can immediately trigger the closing of the valve and report the issue to its owner. You can control back the smart-valve from a Control Center or from a secure link via your smartphone.

The STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter has been designed to provide a seamless ultra long range wireless capability to most common irrigation and sprinklers valves.


This wireless smart-emitter device connects directly to the DC latching solenoid of the valve while providing wireless connectivity up to 15+km(10+ miles) distance from the Control Room or the irrigation controller even through obstacles.


The STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter is provided within an IP68 enclosure. Connectivity to the solenoid is made through two wires. These wires are passing through a sealing gland to ensure complete waterproofing. Two extra Digital Inputs can be associated to the control of the valve for flow monitoring or any alarm status.


The vast majority of the irrigation valve suppliers offer DC latching solenoids as a retrofit for their AC valves for applications where the irrigation controller is powered by batteries. 


With its ultra-low-power consumption, the STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter can operate on batteries during 5-10 years* (calculation based on 3 irrigation periods/day – all year long) and through extreme long distances from the gateway/concentrator. LoRaWAN technology provides an exceptional obstacles penetration even in urban or sub-urban areas.

The device is powered by two Lithium batteries but one can also use an external power source like a micro solar panel to power the emitter for unlimited time operation.


The STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter permits to forget laying cables from the irrigation controller to the valve and offers a unique identification key combined with full encrypted wireless data for secure Open/Close control.


Extreme range transmission up to 15+ km (10+ mi) is achieved even if emitter is burried below ground surface. The cost of the STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter is far less expensive than the cost to dig and bury wires. It is more cost effective to replace buried wire systems with a wireless solution than to continuously repair wires that have been chewed by varmints or damaged by earth moving equipment.


And we have decided to offer more than super long range wireless connectivity to your valves: with its embedded real time clock and processing capability, the STREGA wireless Smart-Emitter can store your scheduled watering programs and open/close the valve by its own (up to 4 schedulers per day for each day of the week), without requiring to communicate with the irrigation controller ! It can even stop waterizing if a certain flow has been detected or on any abnormal alarm condition… directly at valve station level.
